Foden Lane Nursery has evolved over the last few decades.  Originally farmland with some of our neighbours remembering potatoes being grown on what was once a small field.  Later the nursery began with the growing of rhubarb.  We can't be sure that the rhubarb we found growing on the site is from the original stock, but we lifted it and replanted it carefully and it can still be found thriving.  The site was purchased at the end of the rhubarb days and a thriving nursery developed.   The nursery progressed, supplying a wide range of plants and a whole array of other associated equipment and products for the gardening market.  In fact it was one of the former owner's customers living locally that had bought their hedging plants from the nursery over 20 years ago that led us to finding Joe and acquiring the nursery.

When we purchased the site Joe had retired from the business for a number of years, and slowly nature and fly tippers had taken over.  There are lots of photo's in our shop showing the progress we have made in taming the nursery again.

The current custodians of Foden Lane Nursery are Rick, Paul & Jane and our team.  Many of our customers will know us as Caddis and the nursery is run in conjunction with the rest of the products and services that we still provide under the Caddis banner.   Foden Lane beautifully compliments the landscaping, forestry and native tree supplies that we have been doing for years  and allows us to express ourselves in a new way.  It also acts as a demonstration of some of the services and skills that we can offer.  Whilst you are walking around, if you see something that you like, please ask about it in the shop; chances are we made it and can help you with or just offer advice for your project.
